Using Rubrics in the Classroom📋

Using rubrics impacted my teaching practice and my students learning. Creating a rubric with the webpage template felt nice but challenging also. Introducing the use of rubrics in the classroom is helpful because the rubric are connected to the assessment and grading processes; and sometimes the instructions given by teacher are not clearly understood for the students, as a teacher I have some expectations from the students learning products and for the way they complete the instructional strategy that I asked them to solve; with writing expectations in a rubric, the students can see the all the requirements that classwork has to fulfill; rubrics decrease misunderstanding and students have a written guide on hand as a better way to masters the essential standards objectives, and contents, ending up in building knowledge. As a teacher who constantly has to grade students' work, rubrics are a way to be more objective and less subjective because having clearly the grading criteria since the beginning makes the process easier and formative. For this instructional strategy I designed one rubric for several activities, but I would like to do something different next time, I would like to offer more variety of the kind of activities that I assigned, these activities could be differentiated according to specific criteria like students Multiple intelligences or data based, but also in diverse population will bring engaging and fun that allow the students to learn with excitement, putting energy, love and passion for their school process and also make a great impact in their own life.
